Professional Statement

During my years as an Instructor, Tutor and Teacher at various institutions in the US and Germany, it became apparent that my background in Engineering could be used to teach language courses in merging these two “trades” into one interesting tool of transmitting language skills in a new setup. I would like to share this with the GLSC Member Schools in order to foster one of the 5 C’s in Language Programs: The Connections, here through other peripheral trades, i.e. Engineering.

Furthermore, in light of the decreasing numbers of public high schools offering German language programs the need arises to advertise our Saturday Programs as a well-suited alternative to learn the German language and culture. We are also pursuing the goal that our schools offer transfer credits to the students' regular schools. This will increase the motivation to attend our programs. I will further research what transfers are available in particular regions and share my findings with the schools.
