The great task facing German language education in the United States today is to preserve the German language, heritage, and culture. It is imperative to promote interest in the study of German and work for greater opportunity and availability to receive this education, starting at the elementary school level and progressing through high school and college.
Motivated by the love of German language and culture and the respect for the countless contributions of Germans in the building of America, I am committed to work towards increasing the opportunity for the study of German. It is necessary to keep a German presence alive for the future. German is an important language and I consider it my duty to educate the the public of that fact.
