Professional Statement

The challenge of finding effective German language education in the U.S. became apparent to me in 1990 when I began to search for language options for my two sons in the Greater Boston area. As a school committee member and later as Chair of the German Saturday School Boston I began to see a growing role for German Saturday Schools, especially given the ever increasing loss of local high school German programs. I would like to work on the national level to raise awareness for the significant potential German Saturday Schools have and to work on a local level to help German Saturday Schools grow, improve student services, and streamline school operations.
