Roundtable: Playing Games – Why? What? When? How?

Part Two

Sigrid Haas-Belluz, Deutsche Schule Charlotte, NC;
Dr. Eileen Wilkinson, Stefanie Mischner, Erika Richards,
German School of Connecticut

Learning a language involves teaching and learning grammatical know-how, memorizing vocabulary, practicing communication and much more. It also requires constant review and repetition. To make this process not only successful but also fun, teachers often invent games. This workshop will explore the "why," "what," "when" and "how" of "playing games."
Continuing the work of last year, the GLSC has formed a StADaF Group which has created a simple and practical format to accommodate learning activities and games. This workshop will introduce the new format and continue the dialogue of last year. Teachers who wish to participate are urged to bring their activity project and identify its intended learning outcome.
