Children learn at different levels, speeds, and approaches. Each child comes to school with what will determine how he/she will learn. My presentation will show the different learning styles, how to approach them and how to use them in the German Language School setting. Children will learn better if we gear our teaching to their needs, especially in their learning style.
Some children will stand out in their learning styles and some children will be a combination of two styles. One may have a class of only 5 or 8 children, but you will have 5 to 8 different learning styles, and some maybe be similar, but all need to be addressed. I hope to show how to combine learning styles in teaching this child. I also hope to have a survey for the teachers so that they can see what their learning style is and how they can adapt their learning style to meet the styles in their classroom.
I will have a Power Point presentation, along with use of the overhead projector and samples of ideas and activities that I will give out at this presentation.
