Annual Conference
This workshop will show teachers how to teach German history through simulation, using die alten Germanen as a theme. The participants will form Germanic tribes, learn to read and write Runes, plan a Jahrmarkt and an Altdeutsches Thing, develop a special handicraft for trade purposes and present a short, humorous skit about the Schlacht beim Teutoburger Wald. All participants will receive a packet with complete materials and suggestions on how to use the unit with various ages and language levels.
