International Mother Language Day is a commemoration day established to promote languages as a sign of the cultural identity of the speakers and the importance of foreign language teaching and multilingualism as keys to mutual understanding and respect.

We would like to thank the German Embassy in Washington, the Consulate General in NY, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco, the AATG, the DAAD, the ZfA, the Goethe Institute and the University of Cologne for their support.
